Directive 2026-02 | MHP Assistance Limit Increase to $50,000

Directive |

To: All Participating Lenders

This Directive notifies you that the Montgomery Homeownership Program (MHP) is increasing its
downpayment assistance limit to $50,000 per home, effective immediately. Due to this increase, the
number of available reservations is now very limited, which will be filled on a first-come, first-served
basis. To request a new reservation, please email [email protected].

Existing reservations will be honored at their current levels. If additional funds become available, we
will issue a directive to re-open the product. We anticipate fully re-opening the program at the
$50,000 assistance level in fiscal year 2027 (July 2026).

The Maryland Department of Housing and Community Development thanks our lender and realtor
partners for the continued success of the Montgomery Homeownership Program.
